A pretty Park 5k/ 10k in Battersea Park, London.
Battersea was a lovely location, outside the hustle and bustle of the big city but close enough to benefit from the amazing atmosphere of London.
The event was well organised, friendly volunteers were easy to find and the course was laid out clearly. Bib collection took place near the start line and the bag drop off was simple. Also there was a fun warm up for runners before the race start which was a nice additive.
The entry fee was £24 which is a fair price, also photographs were free online after the race.
The course was a 2.5k loop repeated 2 or 4 times depending on the distance you entered. I gave the course only 2/5 stars because the tarmac path had a steep curvature, and runners were told to keep left making the run hard for the left leg, foot and ankle. Four laps also made the race course a little busy.
The Medal is good quality metal with striking colours. The bib was okay, with an easy to work lace race chip.
Other perks included:
1. Photographers with free pictures to download
2. Bag drop off
3. Lots of aid stations and goodies
4. Live music on course
The race atmosphere was great with loads of fun, fast and friendly runners.
Overall I am really glad Louis and I went to complete this race, we met some amazing runners and it gave us a good excuse to venture up to London for the day. Thank you RunThrough for organising this race.
